Gloucester Arts on Main

6580 Main Street
Gloucester, Virginia 23061

Our building was built in the 1920s and has seen many different tenants and renovations over it’s century of life. It has been home to several car dealerships and repair shops, an antique and stationary store, a residence, and now Gloucester Arts on Main!

Today, the building features more than 4,000 square feet of gallery and classroom space. Our front gallery houses exhibit space that changes each month to include new art, artists, and themes. In our middle and back galleries, you can find a mix of paintings, pottery, wood and metal sculptures, glass work, jewelry, fiber arts, cards, books, and more! Our back gallery currently doubles as a multipurpose space where visitors can relax with the art, take classes, enjoy camps, create in our open studio, or participate in our monthly “Crit” group.

When you come for a visit, feel free to park on the street in front of us. If you don’t see a spot, there’s a parking lot about halfway down Martin Street on the right side.

While the art in our front gallery rotates monthly, the works in our other gallery spaces also change regularly. We have a few movable walls that help us change the layout to keep things fresh. So, visit often to see what’s new!

The next phase in the life of our building is coming soon! We’re currently working on replacing our roof (a necessity!) and exploring ways to further update our classroom spaces. We’re very excited about these changes and all the ways they will allow us to expand our offerings and better support the arts in Gloucester.

Stay tuned for ways you can be involved in and support the upcoming renovations!
