Van Hutchins is a musician, singer, and actor who was born and raised in Gloucester, Virginia. From a young age, Van was drawn to the art of performing. He loved to dance to Michael Jackson and sing as a little boy, taking every chance he could to show off his talent at family gatherings and Elementary School talent shows. Later in life, Van decided to pick up music. He taught himself how to play guitar, piano, and drums. Starting with piano, Van learned a variety of songs ranging from Queen to Billy Joel. On drums, he enjoys playing songs from bands like RUSH and Metallica. When Van started playing guitar, he immediately fell in love. He enjoys playing music that ranges from blues, to rock, and everything in between. Beyond his passion for music, Van loves to act on stage. His interest in theater arose when he wrote a skit for Odyssey of the Mind. Van could not stop acting after he did a production of Johnny Appleseed a few years later. Since then, he has done productions with his High School like The Little Mermaid and with his Community Theatre like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Matilda. He has even competed in some theatrical competitions. Van’s love for performing has followed him everywhere he has gone as he has grown up. He has many goals set to continue bringing audiences together with his dedication and craftsmanship.
