Watercolor for the TRUE Beginner

Every Thursday from April 25 - May 30
6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Join Doug Mock every Thursday evening April 25 - May 30 for a beginner’s watercolor series at Arts on Main!

Do you have the desire to paint in watercolor but don’t know where to start? Are you scared and intimidated? If so then fear no more…this is your class where you will start from the very beginning as if you were 5 years old! Artists will learn about supplies, beginning techniques, choosing subject matter and achieving results that are sure to please. Open your mind, prepare to learn, have some fun, and enjoy the beauty of all that watercolor has to offer. This course is for the TRUE beginner. Double the fun and invite a friend; this will be a great learning opportunity.

In this class, artists will 1.) Understand the difference between student grade and professional grade supplies and how critical this is as you begin to create. 2.) Understand and have hands-on opportunities to use the key (and most critical) techniques that watercolor artists use most often. 3.) Gain the necessary confidence and competence to paint outside of class and begin their personal journey with watercolor.

*A key to success with watercolor is having the best supplies an artist can afford. If you have watercolor supplies (especially professional paper and paints) that might work please feel free to bring them to the first class. If you need supplies then Doug will have a good beginner set (paints, brushes, palette and paper) available for $125 (please make check payable to Doug Mock for supplies or pay by cash).

Please contact Arts on Main to request your beginner kit! If you would like to purchase your own supplies, contact Arts on Main for a supply list.
