Weaving Placemats on a Rigid Heddle Loom
Instructor: Caryn Hogg
Saturday, September 20
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Ever wondered about weaving but didn't have access to a loom or know where to start? Ever thought "I'm more a math and science person than an artist"? Ever found it hard to sit still during an art class? If so, then this is the class for you! Weaving is an art form that dates back thousands of years and relies on simple math and mechanics to design, plan, and create beautiful and functional art. Students in this class will use Arts on Main's rigid heddle looms to learn beginning weaving techniques and create lovely placemats for you to use in your home.
For ages 16+
All supplies are included.
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
“Hi, I'm Caryn Hogg. By day I work in Healthcare I.T. and am a tech nerd, but my creative side loves all things fiber arts. I am on a life journey from knitting to spinning to weaving to tatting to... who knows?! I am always excited to share my knowledge with people and love being living proof that anyone can make beautiful things with string - you just have to be willing to try!”
