Join Lauren Sowder every Wednesday in September from 6-8pm for a Linocut Printmaking Class Series at Arts on Main!
Ready, set, carve! In this class series, you will learn techniques of linocut relief printmaking and the fascinating history of this traditional medium. You will design, carve, and print a 6x8 inch linoleum block and leave with five original handmade prints of your own design on 8x10 inch paper. We will cover various techniques of carving and printing to create your finished product. This workshop is beginner-friendly, but all skill levels are welcome. For participants with previous printmaking experience, advanced techniques will be offered. All supplies will be provided by the instructor, including a linoleum cutter to take home and continue printmaking on your own! All you need to bring is your creativity, an apron, or clothes you don’t mind getting ink on!
