Mixed Media Workshop with Gloria Clifford
Join Gloria Clifford for a Mixed Media Workshop at Arts on Main
on Friday, November 1st from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM and Saturday, November 2nd from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
This workshop is for anyone who would enjoy learning more about COLOR with hands on projects that are not only fun, but effective in future color choices and decisions. Instruction begins with an easy to understand explanation of the color wheel, because without this basic knowledge, successful color mixing in any medium is almost impossible. Class projects will include paper collage, assembling creative color designs, and color mixing during the creation of several small acrylic paintings.
As an artist, understanding color is a skill that is imperative in the creation of any successful artistic project. A better understanding of color in general is one of the greatest importance in so many life experiences. COLOR affects so many decisions in our daily lives. I have found over the many years as an instructor that so many students have no clue how to mix colors or how colors interact. As a result, I developed this class with an instructor at the Vero Beach Museum of Art so that my students could receive one of the foundations necessary before moving on to other learning. No matter what medium an artist may pursue, the understanding of color is crucial for success.
All supplies will be provided by the instructor.

About Your Instructor
Art that conveys a passion for preserving the natural world through bold colors, joyful compositions, and vivid subject matter describes this artist best. As a painter and instructor for most of her adult life, Gloria works in numerous mediums. Her love for color is evident in every painting she creates, so she is the perfect instructor for this class. Gloria's art is currently showing at the RAL Art Center in Kilmarnock and the Redfish Gallery, LLC in Irvington. Previously, she has been represented by numerous galleries within the Eastern United States. Gloria has worked with oils since she was twelve, but in recent years, she has expanded her media to include a mixture of oil and cold wax, acrylic, watercolor with gel pen, alcohol ink, and more. With a deep love for the ocean and tropical habitats, she utilizes a brilliant color palette to focus on capturing incredible sea creatures and birds, as well as unique abstracts that evoke the feeling of being underwater among hidden marine life.
